  • I'm going to be and LAPD wife.

Gordon got the official call this morning to let him know that the Los Angeles Police Department has hired him! He starts the Police Academy on October 14th. I couldn't be more happy for him. He wanted this so bad and worked so hard to get it! :)

  • Hendrickson

I am officially a "Hendrickson"! I finally got everything changed over. My driver's liscence, social security card, bank card, and credit cards are now all hendrickson! Its kind of weird. For the first 2 decades of my life, I was a steele, but now, my kids will always know me as Sarah Hendrickson. Its a weird thoughgt..... But hey, at least I got a GOOD last name. I know plenty of people with horrible last names. Hendrickson is pretty dang cool! :)

  • Update

I think its time I give a bit of an update on my personal life. There isn't much to say. I am STILL married (2.5 months and going strong! haha) and I still love being married. Gordon and I have taken up walking almost every evening after dinner. Its a really enjoyable time for us to walk and talk and spend some quality time NOT in front of the TV! We don't want to be one of those couples that only goes to work and then comes home and only watches tv. I love our walks. Although last night, gordon picked our route (we usually walk about 4 miles) and I swear it was WAY longer than that. It took us forever. We didn't even get back home until 8:30! haha. But we had a blast.

This past weekend, we went to visit his family in Anaheim. It was so much fun. On saturday night, we went to Lazy Dog (the usual spot) with Fish and Lizzy and Eric. Gordon, Fish, and Eric got these huge fishbowl-size Long Islands and needless to say, the three of them were RIDICULOUS. Lizzy and I were laughing so hard. Then on sunday, Gordon's parents took us to look at houses. We aren't ready to buy, but in the next couple of years we probably will and most likely it will be a house in Anaheim. His dad seems eager to help us out, which is so generous of him.

Gordon and I have finally made the decision about what to do next year. We are moving back to Anaheim. I realized that Anaheim is where Gordon wants to be. And plus, as I stated in my last blog, I totally miss Fish and Lizzy and Eric and Glenn. So, god willing, we are moving back next year. (Unless God really changes the direction of our lives).

The last little bit of update is that Gordon has his FINAL test for LAPD on friday. Basically, its where they interview you to make sure you don't suffer from a serious psychological disorder. So I think he is good. In talking with a guy from church that just finished the Academy, if you make it to this stage in the application process, you are in. So that is some really good news! There is finally an end to the application process that began in February. It is very likely that Gordon will be in the academy by late september or October. That is VERY encouraging to us! I think he will thrive as a police officer. He is such a man of integrity and morals. He is the kind of guy that Los Angeles needs working on their police force.

Thats it for now. As you can see, I'm really busy at work! ha!
